A total of five men and women convicted in connection to the kidnapping of Jashayla Hopson will face a federal judge for sentencing at 9 a.m.
Wanda Dancy, Shamarius Ruffin and Shaquayla Johnigan each pleaded guilty to conspiracy to kidnap. The women face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Joyce Johnigan and James Johnigan pleaded guilty to a criminal information charging them with misprision of a felony. They face up to three years in jail and a $250,000 fine.
The mastermind behind the crime is Jesse Mae Pollard. Pollard is in prison awaiting her February 18th sentencing. Pollard's son Devontae, a former University of Alabama basketball player was also charged with conspiracy to kidnap, but received deferred prosecution.
