Snow day on the way - - Jackson, MS

Snow day on the way

Good Tuesday morning from MSNewsNow's Brandon Artiles!

It's 28 degrees which means if any wet stuff were to fall from the sky it would be in the form of snow and/or sleet. Meteorologist Julia Weiden is closely watching the situation and she'll let us know when the snow is expected to fall in her First Alert Forecast.

With the possibility of snow many schools and businesses have canceled its plans for the day and we have a full list of closings on  And, when the snow comes we want to see how you are handling it, so post your pics of snowscapes or snow play on our WLBT Facebook page.

Jessica Bowman will be on road patrol this morning and she'll be giving us real time updates on road conditions. She will also let us know how state officials and road crews are planning on dealing with the inclement weather.

As bad as it could be here, the snow is expected to be much heavier south of the Metro where the Governor has declared a state of emergency for 36 counties.

Aside from the weather, the trial begins this morning for the woman believed to be involved in the death of a Georgia woman. The victim died after receiving an unlicensed, cosmetic injection in the buttocks. We'll have a preview of the case at the top of the hour.

Please join us from 5 to 7 and Mississippi News Now weather coverage continues on FOX 40 from 7 to 9.

Have a great Tuesday and be safe out there.
