ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Students at The Paragon School will compete against each other in a spirited cake decorating contest on January 28 to celebrate National School Choice Week. Each class will have an hour and a half to decorate a cake to display for judging. Families can also decorate cakes at home to bring in on the day of the event.

The Paragon School serves students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Asperger's Syndrome.

The cake decorating competition is part of 5,500+ independently-planned events of all kinds taking place during National School Choice Week 2014 – the nation's largest-ever celebration of educational opportunity.

Parents, students, and teachers.

WHAT:

The Paragon School cake decorating competition to celebrate National School Choice Week. Each class will have 1.5 hours to decorate a cake and then those cakes will be judged in different categories. After the awards are handed out, there will be a cake walk and families are invited to eat cake.

WHEN:          

Tuesday, January 28
Cake decorating from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Viewing and judging begins at 1 p.m.

The Paragon School opened in August 2007 to meet the growing demand in Central Florida for specialized education programs to serve students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Asperger's Syndrome.  The school provides a program of academic instruction centered on social skill development, innovative learning methods, and Christian values education.
