Jones County Sheriff's Department deputies responding to a domestic violence call got a surprise during the recent winter ice storm. 

Deputies were responding to a domestic violence call on Lake Como Road Wednesday afternoon.

When they entered the apartment, the immediate strong smell of marijuana overtook them. 

Upon further investigation deputies found the marijuana being stored in a backpack in the master bedroom.

Once the officers had possession of the backpack, Michael Buckley began to tell them the marijuana was medical marijuana and he had a prescription for it. 

The backpack contained 18 containers of miscellaneous marijuana flavors individually bagged, 4 medical marijuana containers from a dispensary in Colorado labeled to Michael Buckley, a package of chocolate chip marijuana brownie mix containing 100mg of THC, and other miscellaneous paraphernalia. 

Investigators learned through interviews, Buckley bought 4 ounces of marijuana to sell in Mississippi after obtaining a medical permit in Colorado.

Buckley was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute and booked into the Jones County Adult Detention Center.
