JULIA'S FORECAST: Rain likely with PM thunderstorms possible

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

After a cool start to the work week we'll see warmth and moisture on the increase today. A few showers are possible through the morning, otherwise cloudy conditions prevail. The showers are associated with a warm front that will be in the process of lifting through the area, turning our winds out of the south and bringing in the warmer air. It's brief though, as a cold front is quick to follow.

The cold front will move through from west to east, bringing rain and even a few thunderstorms in the mid to late afternoon. It's possible a few storms could be severe, although the threat is small. Showers end tonight, and cooler air surges in on Wednesday. We're on the cool side through the rest of the work week with highs generally in the 40s. Rain looks like a good possibility again this weekend.
