This is just a test

Good Wednesday morning from MSNewsNow's Brandon Artiles!

It's 37 degrees at the moment and all of Tuesday's rain is behind us, so you can leave the rain jacket or umbrella at home. Meteorologist Julia Weiden will let us know what we can expect the rest of the day in her First Alert Forecast.

Happening now, emergency management agencies across the state will be conducting test tornado drills as part of severe weather awareness week. Jewell Hillery will tell us how those officials are preparing and how we should be prepared in a live report.

While a tornado drill is going on, state EMA officials will be getting ready for a real weather situation as another round of winter weather is expected to hit in the next few days. Governor Bryant declared a state of emergency and we'll show you where the state is focusing its resources.

Plus, yesterday's storms left many in Jackson in the dark. We'll check with energy providers to see which areas were hit the hardest and if power has been restored to those areas.

Those stories and more are heading your way.

Please join us from 5 to 7 and for more Mississippi News Now you can find it on Fox 40 from 7 to 9.

Have a great Wednesday!
