Good Thursday morning from MSNewsNow's Brandon Artiles!

It's 30 degrees as we get this day started and the potential for a mix of snow and rain continues to loom. If that possibility holds-up meteorologist Julia Weiden will let us know when the wet stuff will start falling and where in his First Alert Forecast.

Happening now, Russian officials and athletes from 80 countries are gearing up for the opening ceremonies of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. As the countdown ticks closer to the games security officials are being hit with terror threats. We'll tell you about the latest threat from overnight in the WLBT AM Report.

Students in Rankin County continue to fight for their English teacher who is out of the job after showing an authorized rated R movie to her students. Right now, the stories being told by the teacher and the school district concerning her departure are conflicting.

Those stories and much more are headed your way at the top of the hour.

Please join us from 5 to 7 and Mississippi News Now continues on FOX 40 from 7 to 9.

Have a great Friday eve!
