JULIA'S FORECAST: Winter Weather Alert!

Showers have moved out, but it's still important to be alert for slippery spots on the roads. In the metro area and south of Jackson, temperatures are generally above the freezing mark, so the roads will likely stay wet. However, near and north of the I-20 corridor is where morning temperatures will be at or below freezing. This is where we have already seen the greatest issues with regards to travel. In fact, we have already received reports of glazed over roads in the Delta.

We'll continue to have a break from the rain and icy mix through mid to late afternoon.. This should allow for temperatures to rise just above freezing into the mid and upper 30s. Heading into the evening, we're expecting another wave of activity. This time, most should experience rain. The exception is in the Delta region, where freezing rain and sleet is possible through the overnight and early Wednesday morning.

Showers clear out later on Wednesday, and we head into a period of quiet and warm weather.
