Winter storm warning in effect for most of the metro area

A winter storm warning is now in effect until noon Wednesday for areas along and northwest of the Natchez Trace Parkway.

Counties Affected: Adams, Attala, Bolivar, Carroll, Choctaw, Claiborne, Grenada, Hinds, Holmes, Humphreys, Issaquena, Jefferson, Leflore, Madison, Montgomery, Sharkey, Sunflower, Warren, Washington, Webster, Yazoo

Freezing rain will be the main impact, heavy at times and will result in accumulating ice on bridges and overpasses. Hazardous travel conditions may develop as a result. Power lines may also become coated in ice, which could lead to some power outages.
