Ice insecurity

Good Wednesday morning from MSNewsNow's Brandon Artiles!

We can expect another slick morning as a round of rain, ice and snow continues to make its way through Mississippi. Right now it's 34 degrees and its all about that temperature and the freezing mark. We're above freezing at the moment, but that can change and meteorologist Julia Weiden will keep us up-to-speed on the conditions in her First Alert Forecast

With the slippery commute and the potential for more ice many schools are taking the precautionary step of telling their students to stay home. We'll have a list of all school, daycare, government office and business closures scrolling throughout the WLBT AM Report.

For an example of why schools are opting to stay closed today, transportation officials in Warren County are saying bridges and overpasses in Vicksburg are beginning to ice over. Jewell Hillery is on road patrol and she'll join us live from the I-20 bridge in Vicksburg where an 18-wheeler accident has shutdown traffic in both directions.

Outside of weather, Jackson Police believe they know who pulled the trigger in a triple shooting and the murder of two people. Now, they just need to catch him and we'll have more on that story at the top of the hour.

All those stories and much more are heading your way.

Please join us from 5 to 7 and Mississippi News Now continues on FOX 40 from 7 to 9.

Have a great Wednesday and if you have to get out on the roads I hope your drive is a safe one.
