"A position of trust or authority"

Good Thursday morning from MSNewsNow's Brandon Artiles and is it just me or has it been a long week?

Anyway's, we're starting the day at 31 degrees and the good news is we're NOT expecting any rain, freezing rain, sleet, snow or ice. However, the possibility of "black ice" remains on the roads, so be mindful of that when you're heading to work or school. A nice warm-up and sunshine is in our future and meteorologist Julia Weiden is happy to tell us about it in her First Alert Forecast.

Happening now, a Raymond youth minister is free on bond this morning after being arrested for alleged inappropriate contact with a 14-year-old boy. The exact charge is "gratification of lust while in a position of trust or authority". Details on this case are coming up at the top of the hour.

Plus, Jackson Police are dealing with a at least one and possibly two overnight shootings.  We're ironing out the details and we'll have the latest information throughout the WLBT AM Reports.

And, a suspected excessive paddling incident at a private school in Madison County has prosecutors taking a closer look at the state's laws on corporal punishment.

Those stories and much more are heading your way.

Please join us from 5 to 7 and have a great Friday eve!
