JULIA'S FORECAST: Calm and comfortable work week finish

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Last night's storms brought all that was forecast by the First Alert Weather Team: high gusting winds, heavy rain, and isolated instances of hail. Some saw upwards of 4" of rain during the event! As far as wind goes, highest gusts were found north of Columbus, topping out at 64mph. Thankfully for the Jackson metro area, no damage was reported. Still, downed small branches could still be on some of the roads this morning, so stay alert on your AM commute.

Otherwise, a really beautiful day is in store. Skies will be sunny, humidity nice and low, and temperatures pleasant in the low to mid 60s. We'll see these conditions continue through the first half of the weekend.

Come Saturday evening, clouds will start to build and eventually give way to overnight showers. The possibility for a thunderstorm isn't out of the question, especially for those I-20 and south. Scattered rain looks to be around through the day on Sunday. We'll keep you updated on the potential for weekend rain, so be sure to stay tuned.
