MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Authorities are still searching for an escapee from a Georgia prison.

Chad Dasher escaped from a prison in Tattnall County, Georgia, and eventually ended up eluding deputies in New Hope, Alabama. Deputies originally attempted a traffic stop on Dasher, but the escapee sped away, crashed the car, and fled on foot.

Deputies were searching for two vehicles, a Toyota Sequoia and a 1988 GMC C-1500 red pickup truck, which could possibly be in Dasher's possession.

Sergeant Brian Chaffin of Madison County Sheriff's Department said two deputies have been assigned to the southern part of the county in order to locate and gather more information on Dasher's current location.

Dasher is still considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, you are advised not to approach him and to call your local law enforcement.
