MS Senate passes teacher pay plan

Happy "hump day" and we are happy that is it a warmer Wednesday afternoon in the Jackson metro area. I'm Howard Ballou with a look at some of the news stories you will see on WLBT.

The Mississippi Senate has unanimously passed the plan to raise teacher pay and reward academic progress at schools.

Plus, officials were still out looking for missing 2-year-old, Myra Lewis, with a large presence of Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers and Wildlife officials searching the woods near the home where the child went missing.

And, the United States Justice Department has filed a complaint seeking to bar Kavivah Branson, aka Kavivah Bradley, and her Jackson business, Branson Tax Service, from preparing federal tax returns for others.

In sports, a controversial potential rule change in college football will not happen next season.
