National honor for Angie Goodwin

Good news for the Lane Goodwin foundation!

The creator of the foundation, Angie Goodwin, of McLean County, has been selected as the winner of the Eagle Rare Life award.

Many of you voted, some everyday for the past few months.

The win means $40,000 will go to the foundation.  The award is given to someone who has shown leadership, heroism, courage, and inspiration.

The foundation was created in honor of 13-year-old Lane Goodwin, who died in 2012 of cancer.  Lane's mission was to help find a cure for childhood cancer.  His parents began the Thumbs up for Lane childhood cancer foundation to raise money for research and awareness.
