JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

A Moss Point mother will spend 20 years behind bars for torturing and choking her three children, who are now ages 13, 16, and 18.

Stacy Williams, 35, pleaded guilty last month to four counts of Aggravated Domestic Violence and three counts of Felony Child Abuse.

"When you listen to what these children suffered at the hands of their mother, the pain is heart wrenching. It is hard to believe that someone can treat others as these children were treated," District Attorney Tony Lawrence said. "I commend the work of law enforcement and my office for their investigation of this case. Because of their work and dedication, we were able to hold Ms. Williams accountable for her horrible actions."

"Cases like this are never easy because in the end, while justice in the criminal system is achieved, we cannot undo the damage and pain inflicted on these kids," Assistant District Attorney Angel Myers said. "I hope they will go forward, knowing that they are valuable and important members of society and that we are proud of their courage in saving themselves from their mother."

Judge Kathy King Jackson sentenced Williams to 30 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Twenty years will be served in prison and 10 years will be served on Post Release Supervision. She must also pay a $250 fine on all counts, court costs, restitution to be determined (for counseling for all of the children), and $1000 total fine to the Mississippi Children's Trust Fund.

Williams is not allowed to contact the children.
