The Warren County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that there was a meth lab explosion in a motor home on Tuesday afternoon.
Officials say the incident happened around 3:30 pm on Tuesday at 520 Berriman Rd.
Culkin Fire officials and Warren County Sheriff's officers arrived on the scene and found 42-year-old John C. Wiggins severely burned in the front yard.
Officials say the explosion appeared to have originated from a meth lab inside the motor home. Deputies have recovered chemicals used in the manufacturing of the meth.
We are told that the chemicals ignited something in the home and that Wiggins managed to escape and to extinguish the fire on his body.
According to the Warren County Sheriff's Office, the motor home has extensive damage. Wiggins is severely burned from the waist up. He was first transported to River Region Hospital and then flown to the burn center at CMMC.
We are told that specially trained cleanup from MBN went to the area Tuesday night and recovered chemicals.
The Warren County Sheriff's Office says they will continue investigating the explosion and that no charges have been filed at this time.
