Gun shot victim in surgery

Good Monday morning from MSNewsNow's Brandon Artiles and I hope everyone had a great weekend!

The day will begin on a dreary note with it being 44 degrees and rainy.  Meteorologist Julia Weiden will let us know if we can expect to see any sunshine later in the day in her First Alert Forecast.

Happening now, a man is undergoing surgery this morning as part of his treatment after being shot over the weekend in Rankin County.  It was supposed to be a day of fishing but it ended with the victim having gunshot wounds. We let you know what led to the gun fire in the AM Report.

Plus, promising clues produced by a French satellite may lead investigators to debris from missing Malaysia Airlines flight 370 in the Indian Ocean.

Those stories and much more are headed your way at the top of the hour.

Please join us from 5 to 7 and for more Mississippi News Now you can find it from 7 to 9 on FOX 40.

Have a great Monday!
