It's pouring!

Happy Friday morning from MSNewsNow's Brandon Artiles!

While you were sleeping, if the thunder didn't keep you awake that is, quite a storm started moving through. Nothing severe, but wet, windy and lots of lightning. Meteorologist Julia Weiden has been tracking it all night and will let us know if the rain will get any heavier on your way to work or school this morning in her First Alert Forecast.

Happening now, voters across Jackson had some of their questions about the field of mayoral candidates answered last night as 7 of the men & women vying for the city's top job debated. At the top of the hour we'll take a closer look at how the candidates performed and see what issues seem to be shaping this election.

Plus, the state supreme court declines to set a date to execute a woman convicted of killing her husband. We'll bring you the latest in the on-going saga of Michelle Byrom during the WLBT AM Report.

And, here to help lighten things up for us, and you, on a Friday, Julie Levanway is whipping up something Fresh From the Flame. She's cooking for us live at 6:15 and we can't wait to see what she has planned for pork tenderloin.

All of that and much more is heading your way.

Please join us from 5 to 7 and if you can't get enough Mississippi News Now it continues on FOX 40 from 7 to 9.

Have a great Friday!
