JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Central Mississippi Affiliate of Susan G. Komen held a press conference to announce the 15th annual Race for the Cure on Tuesday at Thalia Mara Hall in downtown Jackson.

During the announcement the fountains in front of Jackson's Thalia Mara Hall turned pink in support of the fundraiser.

The 15th annual Race for the Cure kicks off in 20 days. Every year walkers, runners, survivors and supporters come together to help fight breast cancer.

The Central Mississippi chapter says it has increased its service area and announced available funds and the award of several grants.

According to the affiliate's website, the 10K/5K mile run/walk will be at the Old Capital War Memorial in downtown Jackson on April 12 at 8 am.

All funds from the Komen Race for the Cure go to research, education, screening and treatment programs.
