Former JPD Officer charged with impersonating an officer

On Monday, Jackson police arrested a former co-worker who was allegedly pretending he was still on the force.

Marcus Johnson was a Jackson Police Officer for about a year and a half. 

On March 31, a security guard at the Palisades Apartment complex contacted police saying someone there was impersonating an officer.

When police arrived, they confronted Johnson and found he was in possession of police equipment.  Johnson was charged with:

  • 1 count of impersonating an officer
  • 1 count of false pretense
  • 1 count of grand larceny

Johnson has already made his court appearance and he did not get bond.
