Stormy Friday morning - - Jackson, MS

Stormy Friday morning

A line of strong to severe storms is moving through this morning, producing strong, gusty wind and heavy rain. A few brief tornadoes are possible, but damaging straight line wind is the primary threat. Rain ends from west to east later this morning, followed by gradual clearing as cooler and drier air blows in from the north. With the clouds and cooler air, temperatures hold in the middle to low 70s this afternoon, along with noticeably lower humidity levels.

Chilly tonight; temperatures fall into the mid-to upper 40s by sunrise, which is near average for early April. Clouds increase again Saturday afternoon in advance of another system that will bring a round of rain, beginning Saturday night, along with the possibility for heavy rain and strong storms on Sunday.
