Accused murderer will face grand jury

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Accused murderer David Horton appeared before Judge Houston Patton Monday morning.

Horton is charged with the murder of his stepdaughter, Kristian Williams, and aggravated assault against his wife, Davietta Horton.

David Horton will remain behind bars without bond.

Detective Jermaine Magee testified that officers found Horton standing over both victims March 15th at a home on the 400 block of Fredrica Avenue.

Magee also testified that both victims were nude from the waist down when shot.

Williams was shot multiple times and died.

Police say they have surveillance video of David Horton shooting Davietta.

Horton reportedly has a criminal past including 5 previous arrests for domestic violence from 1997 to 2005.

He also served time for a robbery and carjacking incident and drug charges.

David Horton will remain behind bars without bond.

His case will now be presented to a grand jury.
