JULIA'S FORECAST: Rain and some t-storms this afternoon

JACKSON COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Flooding areas are a concern today as additional rain will aggravate already saturated areas. While we aren't expecting rainfall amounts to come close to what we saw over the weekend, any little bit will exacerbate flooding issues. Some spots of concern include (but aren't limited to) the Strong River at D'Lo, Tallahala Creek at Laurel, the Big Black River at West, Bentonia, and Bovina, the Pearl River near Philadelphia and Monticello, and the Chickasawhay River at Enterprise.

Rain will develop through the morning, becoming scattered to widespread by afternoon. We could also see some thunderstorms with hail and gusty winds this afternoon as well. We'll be cool in the mid 60s with a breeze becoming more northwesterly.

Skies clear tonight and high pressure moves in, keeping us quiet through the remainder of the work week.
