Easter festivities happening across Southern AZ

There are several Easter events happening around Southern Arizona this year. 

We have put together a list of events to celebrate the season -

-Good Friday procession and Easter Sunday sunrise service at 'A' Mountain - April 18 - 20 

(Sentinel Peak Park Tucson 85701)

Access will be restricted to 'A' Mountain on April 18 through 20 for the Good Friday procession (La Procession de Viernes Santo) and the Sunrise Easter Services (La Misa al Amaneser).

Public access will be closed on Sentinel Peak Road at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 18, and will reopen for normal hours on Saturday, April 19 at 8 a.m. for pedestrians and bicyclists, and at 9 a.m. for vehicles. 

The road will close at 8 p.m. on April 19 for the Easter Sunrise Services and reopen again on Sunday, April 20 at noon. 

 

 

-Avalon Gardens' Annual Easter Celebration - Sunday, April 20, starting at 9 a.m.

Avalon Organic Gardens & Eco Village - (2074 Pendleton Drive, Tumacacori, AZ 85640)

Visitors will enjoy a hayride to the Easter egg hunt (from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.) After the hunt stick around and enjoy refreshments and live entertainment until 2:30 p.m. There is no entrance fee, but suggested donations are $7 for adults, $5 for teens and $3 for 11 and under. There will also be pony rides from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at $5 per ride. Proceeds from the event will go to the nonprofit Global Community Communications Schools for Teens & Children.

-14th Annual EGGstravaganza presented by Tucson Water and Tucson Parks and Recreation - Saturday, April 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Mansfield Park (2000 N. Fourth Ave.) 

This free annual community-wide event is about having family fun! Family activities to include music, carnival games, inflatables, prizes, egg hunts, and the Easter Bunny. A variety of foods will be available for purchase through local vendors.
Hunt Times:

Ages 2 and under: 10:30-11 a.m. - Ages 3-4:  11-11:30 a.m. - Ages 5-7: 11:30 a.m. - noon - Ages 8-12: Noon-12:30 p.m.

(Don't forget to bring an empty basket for the hunt)

-Colossal Cave - Breakfast with the Easter Bunny - Saturday, April 19

Colossal Cave Mountain Park (16721 E. Old Spanish Trail, Vail 85641)

Breakfast hours: 9 a.m. to noon; Park hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Give the kids an Easter treat and come talk to the Easter Bunny! Enjoy Breakfast, Photos, Easter Baskets, Easter egg hunt, Pony Ring (fee), Wagon Rides (fee), and Petting Zoo.

-First Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Apple Annie's Country Store - Saturday, April 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There will be Easter Egg hunts for kids of all ages every hour on the hour, the Easter Bunny will also make several appearances throughout the day. Visitors will also have a chance win a real live Easter Bunny!

The cost is just $5 per hunter which includes one round of egg hunting and a bag of Easter goodies. No reservations are required.

The Country Store is located just off I-10 exit 340 in Willcox.

-Huachuca Oaks Christian Camp & Conference Center - 4th Annual Biker Sunrise Service - April 20, sunrise

Huachuca Oaks Christian Camp & Conference Center (9502 S. Hwy 92 in Hereford, AZ)

Live music, great teaching and a pancake breakfast complete with bacon/sausage, fresh strawberries and whip creme! All are invited to attend and please bring your family. It's a great time!  Look for the biker sign and colored flags just past Stump Canyon Rd. coming from Sierra Vista.

-Easter Egg hunt at Children's Museum Tucson - Saturday, April 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Children's Museum Tucson (200 S. 6th Ave. Tucson, 85701)

Join the Easter fun - visitors will be making Easter baskets, bunny masks, ornaments, frames and much more!  The Easter Egg hunt begins at 11 a.m. with separate areas for children 4 and under, and children 5 and older.  Watch out for those golden eggs (there might just be a coupon inside for a special prize). Easter activities are included in the museum admission price.

 

-United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona Easter Egg hunt - Sunday, April 20 from noon to 2 p.m.

Rancho Sahuarita Clubhouse (15455 S. Camino Lago Azul, Sahuarita, 85629)

This free Easter Eggstravaganza is for all Rancho Sahuarita families with special needs children.  It is happening at the Rancho Sahuarita Clubhouse.  Included in this event will be arts and crafts and a visit from the Easter Bunny! Registration is required for this free event. Please arrive between 12:30 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. and don't forget to bring those Easter baskets. The egg hunt begins promptly at 1 p.m.

-Spring Festival at Rancho Sahuarita - Saturday, April 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Thanks to the Town of Sahuarita and Rural/Metro Fire Department, Sahuarita families will enjoy this annual spring festival which includes an Easter Egg hunt, a visit with the Easter bunny and lots of crafts and games.

-Easter holiday brunch at Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain - Sunday, April 20, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

EASTER CLOSURES:

Casino Del Sol Resort will be closed beginning April 17 through 20 in observance of Lenten season and Pascua Yaqui Easter Cultural ceremonies.  Also closed will be Casino of the Sun and the Sewailo Golf Course.  All will reopen on Monday, April 21 at 8 a.m.
