This week, the rivalry between Georgia and Georgia Tech has moved from the fields of Athens and Atlanta to the greens of Augusta.
Eight players in the 2014 field are representing either the University of Georgia or Georgia Tech. Chris Kirk, Harris English, Russell Henley and 2012 champ Bubba Watson all played their college golf for the UGA.
"Seeing all the guys who went to Georgia, obviously it feels good to be one of those guys," Henley said. "It always feels good to be in the Masters."
Roberto Castro, Stewart Cink, Matt Kuchar and 1987 champ Larry Mize played for the Yellow Jackets.
"Me and the rest of the Tech guys are proud to represent Georgia tech," Cink said.
On Thursday, two former Dawgs will be pitted against one another as college teammates Russell Henley and Harris English tee off in the same group.
"Russell and I have obviously played a lot of golf together," Henley said. "That'll be fun. That'll be a lot of fun."
Besides those eight players from those two institutions, add in Patrick Reed from Augusta State and Boo Weekley from ABAC.
