JPD investigates 5 Sunday night shootings

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson Police are investigating several shootings that took place Sunday.

Shots rang out about 8:15 p.m. Sunday, at the Shell station, at 1775 South Gallatin Street.That's near the exit from I-20.

According to Officer Colendula Green, one victim was shot in the leg, and taken to University Medical Center. 

A second shooting took place after 8:35 p.m. at the Hideaway Lounge, located at 200 Oklahoma Street.

Green said the victim was shot in the leg twice, and was taken to University Medical Center.

She said the two shootings are not connected.

Another shooting happened just after 8:30 p.m. Sunday night.

Shots were fired into an occupied dwelling at 4304 Lynda Street. 

According to Officer Green no injuries were reported.

We are also told that there was another shooting at a home located at 2105 Flowers Drive. No word yet on any injuries.

The last shooting occurred around 10:25 p.m. at the address 1030 Larkspur Street. 

Green said, a black male was shot twice in the left arm.

She said the victim's injuries were non-life threatening.

Despite a sentence of 40 years to life, the Arizona Board of Executive Clemency voted to release him from prison into home arrest. Family members of the victims are concerned for the safety of the community, as are new members of the Clemency Board. CBS 5 Investigates videotaped Huff riding a bike through his Tucson neighborhood. There are no restrictions placed on his proximity to children.
