One suspect arrested after robbing, assaulting female victim

Joseph McDougle, 29 Joseph McDougle, 29
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

On Sunday, Jackson police officers responded to 5035 I-55N (Best Value Inn), in reference to an armed robbery.

The victim told police that when she got out of her car at 30 North Hill Parkway, Town Hill Apartments to go into her apartment, two black male subjects approached her. We are told that they held her at gunpoint and demanded money.

When she told them that she didn't have any money, we are told that the suspects forced her into the backseat of her boyfriend's 2009 Silver Ford Fusion.

Police tell us that the victim was sexually assaulted by at least one of the suspects. The suspects then forced their way into the victim's apartment, where her boyfriend was. The suspects stole several items from the apartment.

Both the victim and her boyfriend were reportedly forced back into the car at gunpoint and driven to local banks where they were forced to withdraw money from ATM machines.

We are told that they were dropped off near a local business and the suspects fled in the stolen car.

Detectives were able to identify and charge Joseph McDougle, 29, as one of the suspects involved in the incident. Police say the Ford Fusion has not been recovered. Detectives are still trying to identify the second suspect.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the vehicle and/or second suspect are urged to contact the Jackson Police Department.
