The 3 people who died in Nettleton after an officer-involved shooting on Wednesday have been identified.
The Miss. Department of Public Safety says that two of the individuals
died at the scene and a third died from his wounds at a Tupelo hospital. The shooting happened on Main Street in Nettleton near the intersection of Mullins
According to police, the suspect fired at Nettleton police officers and was then shot and
Officials have identified the
shooter as 49-year-old Otis Eugene Bass of Shannon,
Mississippi. The victim who died at the scene has been identified as
44-year-old Joseph Valie Bass who was the brother of the shooter.
We are told the victim who died in the hospital in Tupelo has been identified as
33-year-old Jamie C. Guin of Mantachie.
The Nettleton police officer involved in the shooting was not injured.
MBI agents and members of the Crime Scene Unit are continuing to investigate.
Authorities say the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute at a furniture plant.
