Back for more

Good Thursday morning from MSNewsNow's Brandon Artiles!

It's 45 degrees this morning and we're getting ready to say "welcome back" to spring. By the afternoon we'll be enjoying a partly cloudy day in the low-70s. If you want to know how the weather will cooperate with your Easter weekend, Julia Weiden will fill-in that blank in her First Alert Forecast.

Happening now, fresh off a debate last night the two mayoral candidates for the city of Jackson will face-off again tonight, live on WLBT. Jewell Hillery will join us live to discuss what issues and concerns will take center stage when Tony Yarber and Chokwe Antar Lumumba stand at their podiums tonight.

Plus, a second pit bull attack this month in Holmes County has the sheriff doubling-down on his call to have the breed banned in his county.

And, a scary scene unfolded at Ole Miss yesterday afternoon and it all revolved around a suspicious package. We'll tell you what happened at the top of the hour.

Please join us from 5 to 7, and Mississippi News Now continues on FOX 40 from 7 to 9.

Have a great Friday eve!
