JULIA'S FORECAST: Quieting down as we head into the weekend

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The rain and storms have long since ended with the vast majority of the impacts having been felt in the Delta. Some saw large hail and high gusting winds, taking down trees and power lines. Fortunately, the system weakened before it approached the Jackson metro area, just as forecast by the First Alert Weather team.

As far as today is concerned, We'll see conditions improving through the morning. Skies clear and humidity becomes less noticeable. With sunshine and light winds, we'll enjoy a warm day in the low 80s. Clear skies tonight will allow overnight temperatures to drop into the low 50s.

We're warm through the weekend, but we'll be watching as our next system approaches. Clouds increase through Saturday, and the chance for rain and storms approaches Sunday. Some storms could be strong to severe with gusty winds and hail. Stay on alert through at least Monday, since this system will continue to provide activity through the start of the work week.
