JULIA'S FORECAST: More rounds of severe weather expected today

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

While we are in a lull this morning after yesterday's severe weather, don't completely let your guard down just yet. We are expecting more severe weather to impact our Tuesday.

Through the early AM hours, many should experience quiet but foggy weather. As we head into the late morning, fog lifts but conditions begin to prime for another round of severe weather. As a cold front approaches, we'll start to see storms popping up. During the day, storms will progress from west to east. Any storm that develops will have the potential to create damaging conditions with hail, wind, tornadoes, and flash flooding. With regards to location, while the chance for a severe storm is possible anywhere in the state, the greatest threat for severe weather will be east and south of the Jackson metro.

Storms clear out tonight and cloud coverage decreases by Wednesday morning. This will be the start of a cooler and calmer weather trend that will last through the rest of the week.

Stay safe!
