"...she gave the ultimate sacrifice so my baby could live"

Good Wednesday morning from MSNewsNow's Brandon Artiles.

Your day is starting off at 59 degrees.  It's a welcome change this morning to not have to think about the possibility of severe weather today. A good deal of sun and calm conditions is our weather in a nutshell and meteorologist Julia Weiden will let us know how the rest of the week is shaping up, in her First Alert Forecast.

With bad weather out of the way, the focus of communities across Mississippi shift toward recovering from the violent weather of the past 48 hours. In Louisville we caught up with two families that were deeply impacted by the storm.  Both families are waking up in Jackson this morning with children being treated at UMMC. One of those kids is 4-year-old Ashtyn Rose Mitchell and we'll have the latest on her recovery on the AM Report.

Plus, after reported racist comments against African Americans the days of Donald Sterling owning an NBA team could be numbered.

Those stories and much more are heading your way at the top of the hour.

Please join us from 5 to 7, and Mississippi News Now continues on FOX 40 from 7 to 9.

Have a great Wednesday!
