TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A man wanted in connection with a deadly officer-involved shooting has been identified.

On April 14, Sierra Vista Police Department officer Justin Dannels shot and killed a man who police said was trying to run down the officer near Golden Acres Drive and State Route 92.

The driver, Lauro Avechuco, died and his passenger fled from the vehicle.

An anonymous tip called in to the Cochise County Sheriff's Office identified the passenger as Marco Antonio Moreno Guerro, 42, a resident of Mexico.

Authorities located Guerro at his Sierra Vista home in the 1000 block of Carl Hayden Drive on May 4.

Police officials said Guerro is a deported felon previously convicted for possession of dangerous drugs, drug paraphernalia and DUI from drug intoxication, according to a news release. He was turned over to Border Patrol for being in the country illegally.
