Terry Speaks is being held in a New York federal prison for an unrelated charge, but is set to be released in October.
METARIE, LA (WLOX) -
The woman identified two years ago as a suspect in the murder and dismemberment of a Bourbon Street dancer is back in police custody, charged with murder.
Wednesday morning, U.S. marshals arrested Margaret Sanchez at her parents' home in Metairie, LA. She's charged with second degree murder in the death of Jaren Lockhart.
Mississippi officials have been closely involved with the case since Lockhart's body parts washed ashore in Hancock County in 2012.
Sanchez and her boyfriend at the time, Terry Speaks, were the last people seen with Lockhart before her death. Speaks is currently in prison in New York for failing to register as a sex offender. He's scheduled to be released in October, and so far has not been charged in Lockhart's death.
Sanchez is currently being held in the Kenner jail in Louisiana.
