The countdown to graduation is on across the country. At Gautier High's graduation this year you'll probably see students who look alike, and not because of their wardrobe. Several sets of twins will be walking across the stage to get their diplomas.
No, you are not seeing double. Four set of twins help makeup the graduating class of 2014 at Gautier High.
"It is a blessing to have twins graduating in the same class," Elijah Lawrence said.
"To be honest I didn't know we had all these twins, so I was like I am not the only one. I know they all feel good," Alijah Lawrence said.
Best friends and sisters Christaga and Chrystal Noble are the only identical set of twins out of this bunch.
"Yes, we have three classes together except one and the same lunch. It is fun," Christaga and Chrystal said.
Sisters Leah and Racheal McMeans are also best friends and have enjoyed learning together over the years.
"You have someone to relate to about your school work and all the things that come along with high school," Racheal said.
While the McMeans don't have many of the same classes, they have always shared a love for sports.
"Softball, power lifting, it used to basketball, but I didn't like it that much, but she did," Leah said.
Frances and Gladys Gilbert appear to be the more competitive twins at school.
"I don't do that much sports, so she wins in that department, but when it comes to academics I always beat her," Frances said.
While these two have developed their own style and personalities inside and outside the classroom, they still have some similarities.
"I am not in her business and she is not in mine, but we are close," Frances said.
Many of the twins plan to continue traveling the same path after graduation.
"We are both going to the Army," the Gilbert twins said.
"We are going to the University of Southern Mississippi," the Noble sisters said.
Now, as the students prepare for graduation day next week, they all agree having their twin to share this day with them makes a double honor.
Two years ago, Gautier High had five sets of twins graduating from the school.
