WARREN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A hearing was held at the Warren County Board of Supervisors building on Monday to remove Shelly Ashley Palmertree as circuit clerk.

Warren County Circuit Clerk Shelly Palmertree was removed after signing an affidavit for residency in Madison County.

On Tuesday, we obtained the affidavit residency requirement form to enroll children in Madison County schools. It was signed in July 2013.

The new Warren County Circuit Clerk is Greg Peltz.

Peltz was sworn in Tuesday morning after being appointed late Monday. He promises positive changes.

"What happened in the past I have no control of," said Peltz. "I can't say anything about Shelly or her daddy Larry. My day started this morning at 8 o'clock. I'm going to get integrity back into that office and back into the county for that office."

Palmertree is also facing a three count criminal indictment for allegedly embezzling more than $700-thousand dollars. Money county leaders intend to get back for the taxpayers.

District 4 Supervisor Bill Lauderdale said,

"We intend to try to collect those bond," said District 4 Supervisor Bill Lauderdale. "Wherever else we can find some money she owes that was taken, we need to get that too if we can."

Today we knocked on the door at the Gluckstad home Palmertree listed as her address. The garage was open, someone was home, but they didn't come to the door.

Neighbors tell us Palmertree moved into the home about a year ago.
