UMMC to conduct national search for new leader

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

UMMC Vice Chancellor for Health Affair, Dr. James E. Keeton has announced he is leaving the post next year. He has served in the position since July 2009. 

A statement from UMMC reports the medical center will take the next year conducting a national search to find Dr. Keeton's replacement. 

Keeton's resignation will be effective in June of 2015. Top candidates will be considered by University of Mississippi Chancellor Dan Jones. The action must be approved by the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning. 

Dr. Keeton is 74 years old.
