JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The City of Jackson's Public Works Department announced on Tuesday that it has officially kicked off its three-month Pothole Blitz.

This project will fix some 1,000 potholes across the city.

The department says that the potholes were identified through the city's 311 system, an action hotline for residents.

"This is part of the city's infrastructure improvement plan," said Mayor Tony Yarber.

Residents are encouraged to visit the city's website, www.jacksonms.gov, to get more information on where city crews will be working on potholes.
