Two jailed after fleeing traffic stop

Posted: Updated:

A trip home from a cruise has landed two people behind bars. The Mississippi Highway Patrol says they attempted to make a traffic stop on Highway 61 just south of Woodville, but a 2012 Chevrolet Impala did not stop and continued north.

Near the Buffalo River Bridge 3 of the 5 occupants jumped out when the car slowed down. One woman was taken to an area hospital after being injured.

Another passenger and the driver kept going and then abandoned the vehicle a few moments later.

Thirty-two year old Antonio Charleston of Hamburg Arkansas was arrested within a few minutes. Thirty-two year old Brandon Rhodes was found an hour later and charged with felony fleeing along with numerous traffic violations.

None of the passengers are facing charges at this time. The group was traveling from New Orleans back to Arkansas.
