Habitat for Humanity's annual "Women Build" program gives women more hands-on involvement with building Habitat homes.
Several women participated in building a home for Christina Woods and her daughters.
Jackson's First Lady Rosaline Yarber, Habitat's Mississippi founder Elise Winters and Elee Reeves, wife of Lt. Governor Tate Reeves were some of the honorary chairs who put in a helping hand.
"It's just a blessing to have a home that's going up that's something that I can own on my own and my children can enjoy," said Woods.
"This is something that she said she thought would never be possible for her and because of Habitat and the volunteers her dream is actually being manifested so I think this is an awesome thing that we are doing here today," added Rosalind Yarber, City of Jackson First Lady.
"To think that that young woman 31-years old has this many friends that are kind of just standing around almost they have to kind of wait in line to get to a place you can paint because there are so many. Its a wonderful thing," said Former MS First Lady Elise Winter.
Woods will likely move into her home by the end of July or early August.
