JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency has received preliminary reports of damage from nine counties in our state due to severe weather.

Here are the initial reports per county.

  • Alcorn: Trees and power lines down.
  • Amite: A few homes and businesses with minor damage. Numerous trees and power lines down near Liberty.
  • Clarke: Damage to a home.
  • Grenada: Damage to a home. A few roads were closed due to flooding.
  • Lowndes: Several roads were closed due to flooding.
  • Tate: One home destroyed, one home with major damage and one home with minor damage.
  • Tishomingo: Two homes and one business with minor damage.
  • Union: Five homes with minor damage. One injury.
  • Webster: Several roads were closed due to flooding.

The National Weather Service will investigate and confirm reports of any tornadoes.
