WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Officers with the Wilmington Police Department continue to investigate a fatal shooting that happened Friday afternoon around South 13th Street.

According to police, 47-year-old Aaron McGhee died at New Hanover Regional Medical Center after being shot during a reported home invasion around 3:45 p.m.

Gerae Kareem Graham was also shot during the incident but is in fair condition.

Erika Davis, who says McGhee was the father of her son, arrived to the scene shortly after the incident happened.

"I was told that my son also got shot so I came here frantic," said Davis, who was unhappy to hear about what may have been going on at McGhee's residence.

"Come to find out this was a gambling spot and I had no clue that this was going on here," Davis said. "It's one thing for y'all as grown-ups to do what y'all do, but when you have little kids in there, I suggest you find another spot for you to do your nonsense."

Police say details about what exactly happened are unclear due to conflicting eye witness reports. Officials are, however, searching for three men who were all wearing white T-shirts at the time.
