JULIA'S FORECAST: Flash Flood Watch Until 4pm

A flash flood watch is in effect until 4pm today. This includes the following Mississippi counties: Adams, Bolivar, Claiborne, Copiah, Franklin, Grenada, Hinds, Holmes, Humphreys, Issaquena, Jefferson, Lawrence, Leflore, Lincoln, Madison, Rankin, Sharkey, Simpson, Warren, Washington, and Yazoo.

Rain will be widespread today, and upwards of 2" is possible by the end of the day. Heavy downpours will create the flash flooding conditions, and we want to remind you to never travel through any flood waters. Instead, turn around find a different route. Severe weather isn't entirely out of the question today, but it looks rather limited. Stay weather aware!

Another interesting note about today is how cool it will be. Many areas will likely be a solid 10-15° cooler than the average high temp for July 18th. Typically this time of year we max out in the low 90s. Today, we'll reach to hit 80°. Several cities in Mississippi could have record cool high temperatures this afternoon.

Rain and storms will have a strong presence on Saturday, but conditions should start to improve by Sunday. High temps over the weekend will be in the mid 80s.
