Job openings are available at MDOC in Pearl

The Mississippi Department of Corrections is hiring correctional officers for the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Pearl.

Interviews and screenings are coming up Saturday, August 2 at 8:30 am at the prison.

To qualify for the job, you have to be 18 years old, have a valid driver's license and Social Security card, have no felony or domestic violence conviction and provide proof of a high school diploma or G.E.D.

Applicants also have to complete a math quiz, a written report and a physical agility exercise.

Starting pay is $1,833.80 per month.
