A woman says a man tried to abduct her, Wednesday morning, while she was putting her two children in the SUV.
JPD responded to Kings Highway in the Woodland Hills area of Jackson around 10:30.
The search continues for a man who police say attempted to abduct a woman with her small children.
The woman, who did not want to be identified, said she was able to escape with her life and those of her children.
She then said she noticed a man she did not know drive by them.
The mother of two told investigators that he was in a small tan vehicle with slightly tinted windows.
The car circled around and drove toward her.
As she hurriedly placed the children in the vehicle she said he got out and approached her.
"I threw the kids in the car and jumped through the back seat and locked the door and she started beating on the car and shaking it trying to get in. I took off with him on the door handle and we got away unharmed," said the shocked victim.
She describes the suspect as a black man wearing a white T-shirt and blue shorts.
The woman said he drove away onto Old Canton Road.
No suspect has been identified.
