Knight Flight gives students a look into aviation careers

RAYMOND, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Knight Flight 101 and Jackson ACE Camp was underway at the Hinds County Community College Raymond campus.

The program is designed to give students who are in grades 8-12 the opportunity to learn different techniques for flying and give them the chance to take a look at aviation careers.

The group will even get the opportunity to take a test flight, weather permitting.

"The purpose of the camp and the mission of the camp is to build awareness of aviation and the possibility of the different careers that are out there that they can take advantage of. They can also have fun learning the stems," said Kimberly Farmer, Knight Flight 101 Director.

There are about 40 students participating in the camp.

There are not only students from Jackson, but Texas, Louisiana and the Virgin Islands.
