JULIA'S FORECAST: Gray skies and chance showers

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Did you enjoy the cooler temperatures and bright sunshine yesterday? It was a gorgeous day by late July standards. Today we'll hang on to that cooler-than-average feel, but the skies won't be so pretty. Expect plenty of gray cloud cover and occasional showers. High temps will be in the mid 80s.

We're settling into a damp and cool pattern that will have a stronghold over us for the next several days. Temperatures tonight will dip to the upper 60s, which is just a few degrees below normal. With more cloud cover and showers in store for Friday, we won't warm much above the mid 80s yet again.

The weekend should have some sun and also some dry time, but we're also keeping in the threat for rain and storms both Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures nudge up a degree or two each day, with highs in the upper 80s for the weekend and low 90s next work week.
