Climate Masters donates a/c units to daycare

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

On Sunday, someone drove onto a Catholic Charities property in Jackson and swiped two of the three outdoor air conditioning units that cool the daycare buildings. Children had to be crowded into the one building that still had air.

"I just can't believe someone would do this to a charity," said Development Director Michael Thomas.

Climate Masters in Pearl couldn't believe it either.

"We saw the story on Tuesday night," said Climate Masters Development Director Todd Reeves. "The community has been really good to us for nearly 40 years, so it's something we try to do, we try to always give back to the community when you can."

The heating and cooling company sent techs out Thursday morning with two replacement air conditioning units, free of charge, and got them up and running.

"Because of their generous donation it's making things better for us," says Daycare Director Caroline Bealer. "3 On Your Side, I think that they do wonderful."

Climate Masters will make sure the new units will stay put. They will be affixed with cages. And most importantly, the children will be back in their comfort zone.

"I hope these young people understand that this is a Godly act and I hope as they grow up, understand, walking with the Lord, that good things come," said Reeves.
