Airstrikes if necessary

Good Friday morning from MSNewsNow's Brandon Artiles!

It's a warm morning as we start the day well into the 70s. The days of our mild July seem like a distant memory as our usual heat and humidity have been in full effect this week. Meteorologist Julia Weiden will let us know what we can expect in the day ahead, as-well-as the weekend in her First Alert Forecast.

Happening now, Christians in northern Iraq are fleeing for their lives as Islamic extremists seize control of areas. President Obama is weighing the option of U.S. airstrikes to defend American personnel and Iraqi civilians from ISIS. We'll have more on that throughout the AM Report.

Plus, while Iselle has been downgraded overnight Hawaiians are still bracing for two named storms in the Pacific. Coming up at 6 we'll go live to Honolulu for a look at real-time conditions as Iselle draws closer to Oahu.

And, Ridgeland High School's former principal is speaking out and saying the she is being used as a scapegoat, following her ouster.

Those stories and more are heading your way.

Please join us from 5 to 7 and have a great weekend!
